Which we have tried to make easy in every way, so let's start, before making a delicious dish, gather the following ingredients!
Ingredients for making Samosa:-
for flour:
2 cups flour
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/2 tsp salt
water (for kneading)
To fill:
2 cups boiled and chopped potatoes
1/2 cup boiled green peas
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 tsp grated ginger
1 tsp grated garlic
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder (adjust as per taste)
1 tsp garam masala
2 tbsp vegetable oil
salt (as per taste)
Chopped coriander leaves (for garnishing)
Work according to the given instructions -
First prepare the dough:
Combine flour, salt and vegetable oil in a mixing bowl.
Add water gradually and knead to make a smooth, firm dough. The dough should be neither wet nor too firm! Must be very soft dough
Cover the dough with a wet cloth and keep it for about 30 minutes. So that the upsist substances do not fall in it!
Preparation of stuffing for Samosa:-
Heat vegetable oil in a pan on medium heat.
Add cumin seeds and let them splutter. When cumin seeds are visible
Add chopped onions and fry them till they turn golden in colour.
Add grated ginger and grated garlic, cook for a minute till fragrant. Roasted for the right time for a good taste!
Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder and garam masala. Mix slowly and thoroughly.
Add boiled chopped potatoes and boiled green peas. Mix the vegetables well with the spices.
Add salt to taste, and cook the mixture for the time it takes to fill.
Switch off the gas and let the mixture cool down. after about 15 -20 minutes
Start the process of making and cooking samosas:-
Heat enough vegetable oil in a pan for easy frying, over medium heat. let the oil heat up
When the oil is hot, carefully drop some samosas,
Try not to overcrowd the pan. Put only 2-3 samosas in the pan at a time,
Fry the samosas till they turn golden brown and crisp. Keep stirring the samosas in oil, samosas usually take 5-7 minutes to cook.
Take out the fried samosas using a slotted spoon to drain the oil and place them on a plate covered with paper towel to absorb the excess oil. Let the samosa cool down
Preparing chutney for samosa: -
Preparing tamarind chutney:
Material:
1 cup tamarind pulp (soak tamarind in hot water and knead it)
1 cup jaggery or sugar (adjust according to taste)
1 tsp roasted cumin powder
1/2 tsp red chili powder (adjust according to taste)
1/2 tsp dry ginger powder
1/2 tsp black salt
salt to taste
Water
Instruction:
Combine tamarind pulp and jaggery (or sugar) with a cup of water in a pan. You can change the amount of sweetness according to your taste.
Keep the pan on medium heat and stir with a spoon till the jaggery (or sugar) dissolves completely.
Add roasted cumin powder, red chili powder, dry ginger powder, black salt, and common salt to the mixture. Adjust quantities according to your taste.
Allow the mixture to simmer gently for about 10 -20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens and attains a sauce-like consistency. see you slowly
Taste the chutney and adjust salt, sugar as required, you can also use jaggery if you want. Customize by changing the amount of spices.
When the chutney becomes thick, remove it from the gas and let it cool.
Strain the chutney through a sieve with a fine sieve so that no hard matter remains.
Store the tamarind chutney in an air-tight container. It can be kept in the refrigerator for a few weeks.
To serve and enjoy:
Garnish the samosas with chopped coriander leaves.
Serve hot samosas with favorite chutney or dipping sauce.
